Create a Custom Lettering Decal

January 8, 2020 by John

Step by step how-to, Create Custom Lettering Decals that ROCK! By Full Intensity Grafx—The Graphics Masters!

wild style tagger lettering decalIt’s no secret that Lore and I have been cranking them out for over two decades now, and in the process, we’ve learned a few things about owning and operating a small business. First and foremost, you, our client, comes first. Not money, not anything else.

Second, we’ve never look at competitors’ prices (you want the best, not the cheapest), because reputation is king (WE DON’T CUT CORNERS) and if we lose a sale by telling the truth (e.g. how long a decal will really last applied to various surfaces / at various angles; where you might be able to get a product more suitable to your application, etc.), then we lose a sale. But we gain a friend, and your trust—and a client who we consider family—for life. We’re here when you need us, we never, ever cut those corners, and we want to make your custom lettering decals.

old english lettering for decalNow, many of you reading this have been with us for years, and many of you have just stumbled upon this post on the web. The aforementioned know that, Full Intensity Grafx—Lore and I, and family—consider you more than just a client, and we hope anyone new considering doing business with us will give us a chance to prove it by letting us work for you.

Now, without further ado, let’s check out some of the custom lettering decals we’ve made over the years and I’ll show to how to create one, or many, by using our website, which has been online for almost two decades now.

But first, we’ll check out some cool custom lettering decals we have created in the past, and then I’ll show you the three simple steps so you can order your decal online.

NOTE #1: captions and instructions will appear at the bottom of each image.

NOTE #2: many of the links will take you to our main site where you can access a particular feature. category of lettering styles for your decals, etc.

Lore in the process of creating a custom lettering decal
Here, Lore is creating a bright yellow vinyl lettering decal for a ranch. This yellow one uses a really cool font from our cowboy and western style fonts. The name of it is Saloon. At the right you can see a Performance Trucks decal using a sporty font, in color black, and a Gamblers custom text decal made with another cowboy, western style font. And this one uses one or our shadow styles (shadow style #9) for a two-color effect. The two-color decals do cost a little more, as we have to create, die-cut each color as separate decals, then put them together to make quite a unique product!
assorted custom text decals
Top left: Nikki’s Dawgs has been with us for years! Here we created orange and sapphire blue decals using shadow style #6 on our website. I threw in the third layer of vinyl for this order, FREE. The white highlight really sets it off. Nikki’s Dawgs is a small business owner, hot dog stand. Top right: Custom lettering using a cool graffiti font and our ultra bright neon fluorescent vinyl. This vinyl is outdoor durable for 1-2 years, whereas our regular colors can last up to six years or more. Notice, this vinyl is much thicker. Bottom left: A custom “Reaper” text decal using a dripping i.e. bloody Old English style font. Bottom right: Dark Side Pullers has also been with us for years. These dripping bloody style decals are used on racing tractors!
step by step two color decals
Here’s a step by step, how-to… Take a look at this two-color decal being made. First we cut the vinyl items that you order, using the fonts, sizes, etc., that you have chosen, and for this example, we are about to add shadow style #8. The client’s Instagram handle (chosen text entered when he or she ordered the decal on our site) is cut into a neon orange decal (the chosen vinyl colors), and then the purple shadow is cut. We then layer the two colors, carefully and very slowly peel off the application tape, and then re-cover the created decal with a fresh layer of application tape. It’s now ready to be applied via a simple peel and stick. See this page for full decal application instructions and videos. Didn’t this color combination come out cool?

Here’s some assorted pictures for ideas, to show what’s possible. The “Piñata” decal, by the way, brings back a memory. The client wanted a cool decal for his truck, which he called The Piñata. He called it so, because it was beat up, like a Piñata! Also pictured here are some lettering decals we made for a gym, and some name decals and logo text decals.
script and tagger lettering decals
And last but not least of today’s examples, before I show you how to create your own custom lettering decals on our site, are four cool vinyl text creations. Top left: “In Loving Memory” text using bright orange, and a tagger font. Top right: Trail Boss, using copper 6-year outdoor durable vinyl, and one of our coolest western style fonts! Bottom left: “Humpty Dumpty Was Pushed!” Yes, we’ve seen it all, funny ones, crazy and wacky ones. Enter any text you want, and we can create your custom lettering decal. And finally, Bottom right: “El Woody,” a cool lettering decal that uses one of our script fonts. This decal is very clean, and cut from our burgundy, maroon vinyl.

Now, how to create your custom lettering decal at Full Intensity Grafx… in three simple steps!

(Captions and instructions will appear at the bottom of each image. NOTE: Easier to see all of the options when using a computer or tablet.)

Step #1. Go here. Choose a lettering style category…

Go to Full Intensity Grafx, and select your lettering style by hovering over the category of fonts you like, then click on it. Full Intensity Grafx Custom Lettering Decals

Step #2. Choose your font style…

Step 2 Choosee a font for your decal
In the text box under “Step #2” enter some text. This is the text you want on your custom lettering decal. It can be a name, a website address, a business name or car or truck club name, etc. Then, press GO! You will be able to see what the text looks like in all of the fonts in that category. Now, just select the one you like!

Step #3. Select options, add to cart, checkout…

choose decal options
Now, simply choose your custom decal options, add to cart, then checkout. Note #1: If you would like a sample proof, please leave a note in the comments box at checkout and we will make sure to create one, upload it to your order details page, and wait for your approval before we create your decals. NOTE #2: You must choose color, size, and quantity. The rest of the options are optional.

Step #4. Shadow style “options”… (A TIP!)

shadow style options for your custom lettering decal
TIP: The shadow options, are optional! Please note, these options don’t always look better. Sometimes the one-color text is the way to go, looks more awesome and clean applied to glass, and may be more readable from a distance. Generally, I prefer one-color decals most of the time, plus it is cheaper! NOTE: Styles 1 through 5 are still a one-color vinyl decal. Styles 6 through 10 are two colors, i.e. two decals layered to create the two-color effect. A two-color decal will cost approximately 50% extra.

That’s it for today’s post. Now, what cool custom lettering decals are you going to create?
